I Wonder
Writings:
I Wonder
When we lived in San Diego, I would drive past a little African-American church on my way to work. It had a large marquee in front; it said, “Make your reservations now, smoking or non-smoking section”.

Along these same humorous lines, it is said, sinful old men get religious because they are buying fire insurance. Maybe there’s some truth to that.

But the subject makes me wonder. All living creatures, even bugs, seem to have a built-in instinctive drive to stay alive - to survive. As I age, I find myself being and feeling the need to be more spiritual. I wonder if this life self-preservation instinct is put into our souls' DNA in order to preserve our eternal life.

The scriptures tell us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. I wonder, yes, I wonder.

Here's another question: Do we even have a soul? We have never seen one. But, then we have never seen a mind either, but we know we have one.
