Dads, or at least most dads, love their children as much, if not more, than the most loving and expressive moms. But most dads do their loving from a distance in strange and varied ways.
It is difficult for most dads to walk around the house all day saying "I love you," "I love you," "I love you."
Dads express their love at a distance but in a hundred different ways.
Dads see to it that their loved ones have a decent place to live. That they are safe at all times.
That there is plenty of food upon the dinner table.
That their loved ones have adequate clothing for all seasons and all reasons.
That they are kept healthy and strong.
That they are taught a moral and religious code to live by.
That they are taught to be honest, truthful persons of integrity.
That their children enjoy their youthful years to the fullest, in a peaceful, loving home, in short, where all their needs are met.
Dads express their love by working very hard, day after day, month after month, and year after year.
With no one ever saying "thank you, dad."
Dads never even expect, much less ask for a "thank you, dad."
Because they believe that's what dads are supposed to do. They express their love by just observing and watching their beloved family's activities like a hawk and only step down when it's time to have a little talk.
Dads express their love in many different ways.
The love of dads is simply always there; in spite of all the ups and downs of life, they really, really care.
Do not ever doubt the love of DADS. They just say "I love you" in many funny ways.
But, this one time, if I may, I will say "I love you" in the customary way.
