This writing just adds to it. Being repetitive, we Christians believe that our God created the heavens and the earth; that He created everything.
I'm sure at some point you have wondered, where all the matter in our planet and all the other objects in space came from?
We believers believe that God just had to say, “let it be” and it was so. With our new gigantic telescopes out in space we can see a tiny fraction of our universe. All of the seen and the unseen was made up solely out of our creator's power.
Here's the proof of this outlandish statement. All matter, everything, is made up of atoms. Before there was science (as we know it) and before there were microscopes, the ancient thinkers (philosophers) knew this. How?
Now we know this to be a fact. We have learned to split the atoms and release their awesome powers. We now make bombs with this power. Everything is made up of God's power. There is now enough power in these explosives to destroy all life on earth a thousand times over. And in one country, one deranged ruler like the German dictator can spark such a war.
Great scientists have said that the brains God gave us are the most amazing, the most complex objects in the universe. Yet, even with these marvelous minds, we will never be able to fully understand what we are seeing. The vastness of God's universe is so immense that our magnificent brains will never be able to fully understand its greatness.
Our new telescope in space is now in orbit one million miles from earth. What it has seen has astounded even the most experienced brilliant astronomers. It has discovered that there may be as many galaxies in the universe as there are stars.
Try to understand this. All this writing is to show how we may be able to get a tiny glimpse at the greatness of our creator. The same God that listens and answers the prayers of these microscopic life forms (us). We know that He is also merciful, and the Bible says that He is love.
Our galaxy, the Milky Way, contains about 200 billion stars. Light can circle our planet 7 1/2 times in one second. It takes light 100 years to cross our galaxy; that's how big one galaxy is. Our new telescopes in outer space can detect light that left its source 13 billion years ago.
