New But Ancient Discoveries

New But Ancient Discoveries
As a young man, I was a pre-med major in college. My parents died very young, and this is probably what made me so overly health-conscious, so I am probably a little bit of a hypochondriac as well. I have always had a strong desire to stay above ground.

For whatever reason, I have read extensively on health maintenance for many years. Last week, I celebrated my 93rd birthday. My mind still works, and if it were not for a back injury, I would still be running marathons. But seriously, I do believe that God alone creates life.

I can humbly say that I have learned a little bit about health maintenance. I feel obligated to share with you some important conclusions and summaries that I have arrived at.

We were all given incredible, complex, and awesome bodies to live in (temporarily).

This fearfully and wonderfully made marvel is so complex and complicated that a brilliant scholar could spend an entire lifetime studying little toes and die with unanswered questions about toes. We have this marvelous machine and continuously put garbage in it for fuel.

This is like having a Rolls Royce and putting cheap kerosene in it. We must avoid the garbage and provide it with clean, plant-based, high-fiber fuel. This is not easy! But we have to try. (I love T-bone steaks and well-done pork chops.) Secondly, I will share my greatest discovery with you. I am amazed that, all these years of snooping into this subject, I have been totally ignorant about it until recently. I didn't take full blame for this until recently; very little was written about it (for unknown reasons). All the magazines are writing about it, and the bookstores are selling books like hotcakes on the subject. It is being treated as if this was a new discovery, yet it's been with the human race since before we found caves to live in. This thing that is being treated as a new subject is our microbiome
