Last month, my wife and I took a very enjoyable and pleasant ride on the Amtrak train through California's San Joaquin Valley. It made me realize how fantastically rich our state is. I read somewhere that California's San Joaquin and Coachella valleys could produce enough food to feed the entire world.
From the train's panoramic windows, you can see vineyards, orchards, and farms with lush green rows stretching as far as the eye can see. It must take an entire army of farm workers to pick so much produce.
California is truly a land of plenty. Its economy is larger than that of 289 countries in the world. In fact, if it were a country in the world, its economy would be the 4th largest. It is truly a land of "mosts."
California has the most people, the most coastline, the most marine life, the most farm produce, the most technology, the most colleges, the most wealth, the best weather, the most natural wonders, the most diversity, the biggest trees, and you name it, we have it all.
No one can dispute the fact that we have been richly blessed in every way. Since California is a land of "mosts," this is the way we express our gratitude. It's hard to believe. We will now have the "most" killings.
Pregnant women can now come from all over the country to have highly skilled medical doctors horribly kill their unborn babies free of charge. We will soon have the distinction of this being the murder capital of the world.
I don't see myself as a scaredy cat, but I must admit that this scares me. I fear not only for our most beautiful state but also for our country. What are we doing? Where are we going? How did we lose our way? Seeing the hate, wars, crime, and chaos all around us does scare me.
