Sometimes we ask and pray in desperation
and we don't hear a thing
we get no answer from the King
and we think that he can't hear us
Then in his own good time
a door will open up
and we know it's a blessing from his cup

The lord works in mysterious ways
you see, he has years, months, and countless days

When you are hurting with despair
know that God does really care

All prayers are answered
of this, you can be certain
But maybe not on your timetable
The Lord is wise, merciful, and stable

So don't despair when you can't
hear the answer from the Lord.

He will slash your cares away
with his great and mighty sword
