Gold and Physical Pain
Writings:
Gold and Physical Pain
“In everything give thanks,” these words
From St Paul
But not just for pleasures and possessions To Gain
But also for the troubles of life
And yes, even for physical pain

The trials and pains refine us like Gold
To be seen as fine metal
By the one for that for pieces of silver was sold

The pleasures and blessings are ours to enjoy
The pains we endure are ours to insure
That someday we may be as precious as very fine Gold

Fine Gold takes heat and the fire
we need the heat, the fire, and physical pain
to shape us, without blemish or stain

Hopefully, we pray that with our very last breath
We may be privileged to say
Thank you, Lord
For being my God on this, my last day

Thank you for the pains we endure
To be able to live someday in your city with streets made of Gold
As your words so surely insure

Thank you, Lord, for your torrents of blessings
and the soft cooling rain
and yes, even for trials, problems, and physical pain

Ps 126:5 Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.
