Trials have within them
The seeds that can transform men
Into magnificent believers
And to make mere mortals servants
Of the most high God

Trials have within them the power
To make proud men humble
And humble men justly proud
Who will then stand high above the crowd
Trials can break men
Or turn them into giants

Everyone has trials
Choose how you will react
Will it be victory or defeat
With advantage or retreat?

Lord, give us trials
So we may grow more in your light
And you can keep us ever in your sight

Give us the strength
To fight life's many battles and the wars
Give us strength to open heaven's doors

Give us trials
We can't seem to learn or gain
Unless we feel the burning pain
Is that the way it's meant to be?
Your plan we'll never understand
Before we reach the promised land.

Here I am, Lord
Test and try me
And force the blind like me
Your splendor, mercy, and you love to see.
