A 20th Century Miracle

A 20th Century Miracle
Some of us senior citizens are most fortunate in having witnessed a miracle of the old testament biblical proportions.

After many centuries of not having a homeland, the United Nations, after the Second World War, proposed a country for the Jewish people; the historical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The neighboring Arab countries reluctantly tolerated this intrusion into Palestine, for a short while.

In June of 1967, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt, with the help of high-ranking military Nazi war criminals, decided to get together to complete Adolf Hitler's final solution. Namely the extermination of the Jewish people.

So with a century-old established military, they proceeded to march into the tiny new country of Israel which was still in a state of nation-building, and not fully formed yet. Now for the miracle; in six days, from June Sth to the 11th the untried Israeli army and air force completely and totally destroyed the advancing armies and air forces. The destruction was so severe that the attacking countries begged the U.N. to please help them and stop the crazy Jews from killing them all.

The U.N. came to the rescue. The score on the ground was 20,000 dead to 1000. In the air, the score was 86 to zero. 325,000 Palestinians and 100,000 Syrians were expelled from Israel and the surrounding territories. The destruction and the humiliation was so great that Nassar, the Egyptian president resigned in disgrace. War Photos showed burning trucks and war tanks as far as the eye could see. This is a condensed version of the Arab-Israeli Six-Day War. In conclusion, one has to conclude that apparently, God hasn't forgotten His people. And the lesson for the world was: don't mess with God's chosen people.

And here you thought that the parting of the Red Sea was the all-time miracle of miracles. This time the armies chasing the Jewish people were many times larger and more powerful than Pharaoh's Chariots.

For you are a people sacred to the Lord, your God, who has chosen you from all the nations on the face of the earth to be a people peculiarly his own.
Deut 14:2

(The reason for the victory?)
